Deadline reported on Robbie's Suicide Squad offer, leading to the announcement of Johansson's handsome $10 million for the Sanders flick.

Though we truly felt that Robbie would be a great leading lady for this project, obviously Johansson can take on this role. Her recent films include playing superhero/spy Black Widow for Marvel's Cinematic Universe and the recent action thriller Lucy, where she pretty much played another type of superhero. We believe that taking on the role of a special agent cyborg.

"The story is set in a futuristic society where technology has allowed humans to replace body parts with cybernetic gear," Slash Film stated, regarding the project's synopsis. "Some citizens including Motoko even have full-body prosthesis, with only a 'cyberbrain' that retains her original soul. The downside of this technology is that it opens people up to the possibility of having their brains hijacked by hackers. Motoko is assigned to hunt down one such baddie called the Puppet Master, who implants false memories in his victims."
