It looks like a silver lining has come for 7th Heaven star Stephen Collins as new reports are claiming the actor isn't going to face any prosecution stemming from the three reports of sexual child molestation that broke out against him earlier this month. It looks like the actor will not be facing any criminal charges in the case unless a recent victim comes out against Collins. According to TMZ, apparently the statue of limitations for the charges have run out on two of the cases, and the alleged third victim has not come forward yet. The cases are too old for the district attorney to bring them to trial.

But while the two cases are most likely to be thrown out by the Los Angeles Police Department, the New York Police Department is still looking into the case. It's saying a victim came out and spoke to it back in 2012, but reported on an incident that had occurred in the 1970s, and because of the time the source is reporting that law enforcement has given up on the case.

According to the Inquisitr, the molestation cases in question happened more than 20 years ago and were recorded during Collins and his wife Faye Grant's therapy sessions, where she persuaded him into talking about the incidents.

Grant claimed Collins had molested a victim during his days of filming 7th Heaven, which ran from 1996-2007, but a victim has not come forward to justify the allegations.

While Collins may be out of the woods now for this case, it'll still become an issue during his divorce proceedings with Grant.
