Did Nicki Minaj's sexy "Anaconda" girls viciously shake their booties to please the male population? Apparently not...

Twerking is just what girls do, according to the YMCMB rapper.

In a recent cover story with GQ magazine (November 2014), Minaj explains that there's no "hidden meaning" behind her racy music video:

"I don't know what there is to really talk about. I'm being serious. I just see the video as being a normal video... I think the video is about what girls do. Girls love being with other girls, and when you go back to us being younger, we would have slumber parties and we'd be dancing with our friends."

In fact, some of Minaj's sexual innuendos are more innocent than several "pervy" viewers might think:

"[My character is] just talking about two guys that she dated in the past and what they're good at and what they bought her and what they said to her. It's just cheeky, like a funny story."

Most importantly, The Pink Prink songstress attempts to embody female control and empowerment. For example, suggestively eating a banana...

"I'm chopping up the banana... Did you realize that? At first I'm being sexual with the banana, and then it's like, 'Ha-ha, no.'"

Quickly transition to the infamous lap-dance scene with Drake:

"That was important for us to show in the kitchen scene, because it's always about the female taking back the power," Minaj explains. "If you want to be flirty and funny that's fine, but always keeping the power and the control in everything."

Scandalous, or genius?

But such "girl power" doesn't mean Minaj is ready to switch-up her romantic lifestyle - rumors still suggest she's in a rather serious relationship with longtime boyfriend, Safaree Samuels. Apparently, she's ready to start a family soon.
