Taylor Swift usually gets scared by Ellen DeGeneres when appearing on the comedienne's show, however, the "Shake It Off" singer talked about things even more frightening than getting startled by the talk show host when she appeared on the program yesterday.

Swift opened up to Ellen, saying that she has a very real fear of sea urchins, which is something that we are surprised that we have in common with the 24-year-old beauty.

When DeGeneres mentions sea urchins, Taylor gets immediately uncomfortable in her seat, saying, "Don't even- sea urchins I can't." But when the host describes them as little things that are just minding their own business, Swift goes off on why she is afraid of them.

"They're like a grenade," the singer explained of the fishy creatures. "They're sitting there waiting to completely injure you."

"You can't see a sea urchin if your in the Caribbean," the singer continues. "You're like this water is so beautiful and amazing... and then you step on one and it has barbs and it goes into whatever it touches, and then you have to go into the emergency room and get it surgically removed. You could lose your foot, you could lose your hand, you could lose your hand trying to get it off your foot."

Ellen tries to get alleviate Taylor's fear by saying it's not going to happen, to which the singer agrees, saying, "Yeah because I don't want to go near clear water," to which Ellen jokingly questions, "Just murky water?"
