Former Revenge actor Justin Hartley is joining that cast of The Young and the Restless, but his character comes with a twist. The 37-year-old actor teases his new role and talks about the good and bad of joining such a popular show.

When Justin makes his Y&R debut Nov. 5, he will be playing Adam Newman, a character everyone thought was dead. Instead of the Adam we all know, he'll have plastic surgery and look like Justin instead. Despite his new face, Adam will be up to his old ways and ready to take back his life.

Justin will be replacing the original actor who played Adam, Michael Muhney, and with the casting change he has big shoes to fill.

"There are people who are happy I'm joining Y&R and those who clearly don't want a recast. They want the Adam they know and love and are never going to like it if the part isn't played by Michael Muhney. I get that. I think that's fair," Justin told TV Guide.

"I just hope Michael's fans will give me a chance. I'm going to do my best. We'll see what happens. By the way, I don't technically feel I'm replacing Michael Muhney. I am replacing the computer hand that replaced Muhney. [Laughs] I feel confident I can at least do a better job than the hand did!"

So why does Adam come out of hiding? The "control freak" in him can't stand not being in charge of his life anymore and not being able to run his own family.

"[His wife] Chelsea finds the surveillance cam he put in their son's nursery and she disables it. Now he can no longer be a creeper," the Mistresses actor explained to the publication.

"He can't spy on his family anymore so, even though he's not fully recovered from his accident, he must get back to town quickly, especially after he hears Chelsea talking about Billy moving in."
