Before the first season of FX's The Strain even makes its way onto DVD/Blu-Ray, there is already talk on what's going to happen in Season 2.  Based on the Dark Horse Comics adaption, visionary director Guillermo Del Toro already has in mind for more creatures and vampire hunting action for viewers to sink their teeth into.

The series follows Eph (Corey Stoll) and Nora (Mia Maestro) as they discover a deadly vampire plague spreading across New York City. As they search for a cure, an old vampire hunter comes out of retirement to face off an ancient evil. They must work together to save the world from The Master.

In an interview with Spinoff Online, the Hellboy director teased about his upcoming projects, which includes Pacific Rim 2 and Crimson Peak. The Devil's Backbone filmmaker even dropped a few hints about the second season, which seems to be based on book two of his The Strain trilogy,The Fall

Del Toro hints, "We start with The Strain in November, and I'm going to be shooting a creature unit, the action unit, and I'm going to be shooting the Mexican luchador footage, the black-and-white footage that appears in the series. Then I shoot a little movie in April, a small one. Then I start prepping immediately in May. And we start production in end of November, beginning of December."

If the show follows The Fall, Gus (Miguel Gomez) plays a major role in the manhunt of The Master. A vampire hunter during the day, Gus assembles a rag-tag band of fighters, which includes a retired Mexican wrestler named Angel. This could mean Del Toro is working on the flashbacks during the luchador's heyday.

We are already anxious to find out who will be cast as Angel. We also reported the first season is heading to DVD and Blu-Ray on December 2. Bonus features include the behind-the-scenes videos, In the Beginning, A Novel Approach, and Setrakian's Lair.

It looks like we're getting more creatures and action in the second season of The Strain. Readers are you excited for The Strain on DVD/Blu-Ray?
