"American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery took a minor tumble onstage while performing at a Brad Paisley concert last week, and took to Twitter blaming prankster Paisley for the little stage mishap.
McCreery tweeted on Friday:
@ScottyMcCreery: "Dagum @BradPaisley pranked me again.. he narrowed up the stage on me for my last song..... #MeetTheCrowdNight #ImOk."
While performing a cover of Travis Tritt's "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" at a show at the Bethel Woods Center For The Arts in New York, McCreery got a little too overambitious with his footwork and wound up stepping straight off the stage into the crowd. Fans responded appropriately and allowed McCreery to easily climb back up onstage without any problems. The fall itself was actually quite graceful and required only a quick recovery - McCreery takes a short breather but otherwise goes right back into the song as if nothing has happened (check out the stage fall at around minute 8:15 in the video below). "The Trouble with Girls" singer was not injured and took the stage blunder in stride.
Although Paisley didn't actually "narrow the stage," he did pull a fast one on McCreery the following night. Paisley lined the stage with yellow caution tape and bright orange cones for McCreery's next performance. McCreery followed along with the humor by tweeting:
@ScottyMcCreery: "@BradPaisley wanted me to be extra cautious tonight! Thanks Brad!"
Paisley's obviously just looking out for the "American Idol" winner's best interest!
