'The Americans' Season 3 Spoilers: Will Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys Pass With "Flying Colors?" [WATCH]

With The Americans slated to return for Season 3, FX has released a teaser trailer and announced a new cast member joining the popular spy drama. As the spy vs spy confrontation heats up, will Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys) be able pass with 'Flying Colors?'

Created by former CIA officer Joe Weisberg, the critically acclaimed espionage drama is set in a suburban neighborhood in Washington, D.C., during the 1980s. The series centers on two KGB spies Elizabeth (Russell) and Philip (Rhys) posing as an American married couple with children. As their spy ring heads into dangerous territory, the Jennings have to steer their innocent kids away from their neighbor, Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich), an FBI agent who is always an inch closer to blowing their cover.

According to Deadline, actress Karen Pittman will be joining the cast as Lisa, a a struggling mother, who also happens to be a recovering alcoholic. Lisa works on the assembly line of a highly classified Defense Department project. During an Alcoholic Anonymous meeting, Elizabeth will befriend Lisa, in order to again access to the classified project.

We previously mentioned Frank Langella will play the role of Gabriel,a former KGB handler who comes out of retirement. Back in the business, Gabriel will now be responsible for overseeing his two KGB operatives on their secret missions. Gabriel takes over from their previous handler, Claudia (Margo Martindale).

FX Networks released the teaser trailer on their official YouTube account.The short video features juxtaposing imagery of the two opposing flags joining together to become one. We'll have to wait for another teaser before we see any new footage.
