DC Comics is slowly but surely taking over TV with shows like Gotham, Arrow, Flash and upcoming titles including Supergirl, Lucifer, iZombie and Static Shock. According to a new rumor, we can add a new Superman-inspired TV series to this list, entitled Krypton. In fact, Man of Steel writer and Dark Knight trilogy contributor David Goyer is reportedly writing this new show!
According to Bleeding Cool, Goyer is working on Krypton, which is most likely an origin story of the Superman stories that we're already used to. DC has already seen a lot of success with this strategy in Gotham, which takes the same approach but with Batman's world. Though this news is far from confirmed, Bleeding Cool recently broke the news of the Supergirl and X-Men shows that will soon come into development. These reports have been confirmed by other sources, so it's safe to assume that this new rumor could be true.
Goyer is best known for his work on the DC film franchise. He helped write Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, and is credited as a writer and an executive producer on the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. So he certainly knows his way around DC mythology.
It looks like DC Comics is about to take over TV in the coming years. What do you think of this news? Are you interested in the rumored Krypton TV show and its plot? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
