Two and a Half Men viewers are going to get what they've been waiting for when Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer kiss at their wedding on the hit CBS sitcom.

Walden, Ashton's character, and Alan, Jon's alter-ego, decide to get married so they can adopt a child and raise him together.

"I thought it was both very funny and heartwarming that these guys would go to such great lengths to get a kid out of the foster system and give him a home," the show's creator Chuck Lorre told E! News. "Yes, there's some subterfuge in doing that, they are gaming the system, but the intention is to give a child a home, and it brings the series back to being about two men teaching a young man to become a man."

It took a bit for Jon to warm up to the idea, but he decided it would be exactly what their characters needed after each's last tumultuous wedding.

"The first time I heard it I said, 'What?!'" he explained. "And then I thought, 'Oh, yeah, it kind of makes sense, because last season Alan's wedding fell apart and Ashton's wedding has fallen apart.' The writers have a good idea and it opens up a lot of doors."

Michael Bolton fans will go crazy to see he'll be making his second appearance on the comedy after he sang "When a Man Loves a Woman" last season for Walden's proposal to Zooey. Now he'll be singing "When a Man Loves a Man" just for the same-sex nuptials.

The decision by Lorre to include this storyline was that it was important in this day and age to raise awareness for societal causes.

"It's timely and it has a heartbeat. Ashton's character because it's Ashton and Ashton is a man with a huge heart, he's really engaged in social welfare. He puts a lot of time and money into getting better," he told E!. "And we're getting the spirit of that into the show. This seems like the next logical step. Not romance, not sex, raising a child."
