Carrie Underwood might be a few months along in her pregnancy but the country singer is barely even showing off her baby bump. While the singer revealed earlier this week that she is due in the spring, it seems that in the meantime she is trying to keep off all the extra baby weight.

E! News spoke to Underwood's trainer and friend, Erin Oprea, to get the scoop on how the former American Idol winner is keeping healthy and fit during her pregnancy. However, the fitness coach does have a word of advice for other pregnant women out there. The health instructor says before working out, you must clear it with your doctor first, and that your goals should be healthy ones that are obtainable.

"It's not just about looking you best, it's about making yourself feel better," the fitness trainer explained. "[Carrie] just wanted to be healthy, and she looks fantastic. She's eating good, and continuing to work out."

As for what some of Carrie's fitness routines consist of, Oprea explains that there is a lot of cardio and core training involved.

"We do a lot of planks, jumping rope, and we still do lots of weights," the coach explained. "We're just doing lighter weights, to keep her definition and tone. [We also do] tons of fun variations of lunges and squats."

She also comments on Carrie's diet, saying that the mostly vegan eater has been sticking to legumes, veggies, and lots of water for nutrition during her pregnancy.

"She does eat a lot of beans and yummy vegetables," Erin told the news site. "A great source of protein is beans, because you're not only going to get protein but also you'll get fiber out of that."
