Though they had the much hyped lineup, the Cleveland Cavaliers unfortunately didn't start off on the right foot, failing to gain momentum against the New York Knicks. Due to their 95-90 loss, point guard Kyrie Irving and coach David Blatt blame themselves for the team defeat.

During the game, the 2014 NBA All-Star Game MVP led the Cleveland team in both points, reaching 22, and assists, hitting about 7. It was actually his four turnovers that prove  that the basketball player needs to work with his coach on executing the plays. In the locker room, the sports athlete thought back about his mistakes and accepted his part in the team's defeat

The 22 year old sports star admits to ESPN there was miscommunication involved, "For us, it's just a better communication between me and Coach Blatt. That's basically what it boils down to. I'm his point guard out there, and some things that I see, you know, he has plays in his mind and I have plays in my mind as well."

NBC Sports noted power forward Shawn Marion played just 10 minutes during the Cavaliers' opener, and shooting guard Mike Miller played less than that, only three. The Knicks' reserves were actually able to outscore the Cleveland's substitutes about 41-12.

Blatt argues that the disparity was his own fault, "It wasn't by design; it was flow of the game. That's on me. Those guys need to play more."

It wasn't all a disaster as CBS Sports captured an important moment when Irving made a swift drive to the rim and passed to center Kevin Love for the the slam dunk.
