Robert Pattinson & Robert De Niro Movie 'Idol's Eye' Canceled: Shane Daly Tweets 'Bad News,' Kristen Stewart's Ex Spends More Time With New Girlfriend FKA Twigs?

The production of Robert Pattinson's new film "Idol's Eye" is officially canceled. The crime/drama flick was also supposed to star Hollywood icon, Robert De Niro.

On Monday (November 3), aspiring actor Shane Daly shared these rather crytic tweets:

@shanedaly: "Bad news morning... turns out that #IdolsEye, the Robert De Niro film has been cancelled. No reasons as of yet. @IdolsEyeFilm."

@shanedaly: "Sorry to ruin your Monday twitter people. Maybe #idolseye will see the light of day in the future. $ @IdolsEyeFilm."

The popular webloid GossipCop broke the story Monday afternoon. Producers later released this official statement through the website:

“Due to the criteria for financing not being met by producers, Benaroya Pictures has formally decided to discontinue financing the motion picture titled IDOL’S EYE. The company cannot continue to put its investment at risk and has been forced to stop cash flowing the production... This is something all of us wanted to avoid, but due to the producers missing a number of financing criteria deadlines that were mutually established by all parties, we were left with no other options. Benaroya Pictures plans to retain the rights of the film and move forward with production on the picture after we generate a revised script and assemble a new filmmaking team.”

A rep for Daly also confirmed the rumors. He was supposed to play a small part in the movie (as Officer Jones).

An official IMDb description of the canceled flick reads:

A group of crooks get in over their heads when they try to rob a pawn shop. 

The script was based on a true story, and the film was to be directed by Olivier Assayas. 

In fact, filming was to commence in Toronto just last month. Rumors suggested that R-Patz's new girlfriend FKA Twigs was "worried" that he'd end-up reuniting with former "Twilight" sweetheart, Kristen Stewart while hanging-out in Canada.

Well, that's not happening!
