The Batman prequel, Gotham, continues on Fox with another action-packed episode. As more characters from DC Comics make their way onto the TV screen, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is about to face the creepiest villain from the Batman rogue galley in the Penguin's Umbrella.

When Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) discovers Oswald is still alive, she screams for his death. During her meeting with Carmine, he orders his hit-man, Victor Zsasz, to bring Gordon to him. Sal Maroni (David Zayas) will not give over Oswald to Fish, which starts a bloody turf war.

After putting Barbara (Erin Richards) on a train, Gordon is all alone, even his partner, Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) has abandoned his partner. As soon as everyone leaves the precinct, Gordon pulls out his gun first and starts shooting. Victor and his henchmen return fire as Gordon ducks for cover. Just as he heads out the room, Gordon is shot in the stomach.

The shootout continues into the precinct's parking lot. After getting shot in the back, Gordon looks like he's down for the count, until Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen show up, rescuing him. In the parking lot, Zsasz ends up killing a police officer, cutting his wrist, and marking his eighth victim.

Maroni loses millions after Falcone's men steals his guns. Falcone loses his money, but also Fish's lover, Nico, dies in the crossfire. Oswald (Robin Taylor) murders Maroni's right-hand man after he's figured out. To keep the peace, Maroni gives up a slice of his property, a wasteland built over an Indian burial.

After waking up, Gordon finds himself on a metal table, with bandages wrapped around his wounds. A friend of Montoya's helped stitch up his bullet wounds, but now now he wants to leave. Now that they are on the same side, Montoya helps take Gordon to Wayne Manor.

Gordon, Montoya and her partner make a visit to Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz). In case of an emergency, if Gordon dies, they will take charge of the Wayne murder case. Bruce hugs Gordon, thinking it's their last goodbye.

Realizing he's going to die anyway, Bullock teams-up with Gordon to take down Carmine. First they kidnap the Mayor, who helps them enter Carmine's mansion. Though they have their guns on him, Carmine says he has Barbara captured, being held hostage by Victor.

Zsasz enters the room with Barbara tied up. Realizing Carmine wasn't bluffing, the detectives let themselves get captured. Carmine lets the three go, but gives a warning to Gordon.

Gordon and Barbara return home, but she is still shaken from the kidnapping. When he sees her in tears and apologizing, Gordon rushes up to her and kisses her. After everything they went through, they're closer than ever.

After heading out to the backyard, Carmine meets with Oswald, who is secretly working with you as a snitch. In a flashback, the two have been working together, planning Oswald's fake death. Oswald will convince Gordon to join their side.

Carmine and the Penguin are working together in Gotham. Readers, what did you think of Penguin's Umbrella?
