Watch The 'Minions' Movie Trailer [VIDEO] 2015 'Despicable Me' Prequel Film Features Voices Of Jon Hamm, Sandra Bullock

Although the Despicable Me movie franchise has a star-studded cast to draw in plenty of attention, the breakout stars of the animated feature and its sequel are definitely the Minions. In July of 2015, we'll get to see these funny little creatures in their own film, which is set up as a prequel to the original movies. With a voice cast including Jon Hamm and Sandra Bullock, the excitement around this movie is growing, and this week we were treated to the first trailer for the movie! Check it out below!

Minions is directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, and hits theaters next summer, but this week we got to see some early footage of the animated film! This isn't a teaser trailer either; the full-length preview allows us plenty of establishing details to understand what the movie will be about.

We get to see the Minions go through a number of despicable masters throughout time, finding out how these historical figures didn't last long with their new help.

Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. After accidentally killing off so many of them-from T. rex to Napoleon-the Minions find themselves without a master to serve and fall into a deep depression. But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he-alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob-ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. The trio embarks upon an adventure that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock), the world's first-ever female super-villain.
