'The Originals' [SPOILERS]: See What Esther And Mikael Have In Store This Season And When Rebekah Is Going To Return

Season two of The Originals has already had so many ups and downs and there are going to be a lot more. The biggest addition to season two has been Klaus (played by Joseph Morgan) and Elijah's (played by Daniel Gillies) mother and father Esther (played by Alice Evans) and Mikael (played by Sebastian Roche) coming to town and all the trouble they brought with them. We have spoilers about the Mikaelson family and when Rebekah is going to return.

For starters, Kol (played by Daniel Sharman) will finally unveil where his allegiances lie in an upcoming episode, so don't lose hope with him just yet. "All season long, it's been hard to tell whose side Kol is on. In an upcoming episode, we'll finally learn the one thing he really wants, and why Davina is the only person who can help him get it," creator Julie Plec teased in an interview with E! Online.

What we do know is that Kol has a secret that he is prepared to use whenever necessary. The fact that he knows Mikael is back is something he will use to his advantage. "It's just a game of poker. What are the assets I have? What do I get out of telling them?" executive producer Michael Narducci told TV Line.

The biggest storyline to keep an eye on this season will be the Mikaelson family. "We're going to get into a lot of stuff like the family history, who these people are, and why this family is so important, plus a little bit of the origin of Esther and Mikael," Michael explained to E! Online.

"As we unpack those family secrets, in every cycle of violence there is an origin story and a beginning. The secrets buried within the secrets of this family are going to start to come out and they are fraught with the same complex conflicts that we have shown so far. There's a lot more coming."

In addition to Esther's manipulation of Elijah, which she has only really started, she plans on pulling all her children into her twisted web. As for what Esther has in store for her other children including Klaus and Rebekah, we will have to wait and see, but TV Line reported that we will definitely see Claire Holt (who plays Rebekah) before the end of the year.

"You won't be doing much Christmas shopping without having gotten a glimpse of Claire Holt," Michael revealed to Entertainment Weekly about the beloved character's return.
