Yaya Toure may well be one of the best players Manchester City has, but he's not quite his usual happy self at the moment. He has received a ton of social media abuse, and he's hit out at the thousands that have "abused him" ahead of the team's upcoming UEFA Champions League and Premier League games.

"For me, it's a disgrace to be honest," the star player insisted. "We need to do something to try to tell people those kinds of behaviour have to stop. I want those people to understand what they're doing is wrong. I've been trying to say to [world governing body] Fifa that they are on the wrong way and what they are doing is not good."

Toure restored his Twitter account and received a ton of abuse. His ability to play upcoming games was questioned. However, manager Manuel Pellegrini insisted: "Yaya is an experienced player. He is always trying to fight against those things but I don't think he will have any problem about that, to play in the way he knows. I read the news about what happened but I think the people in charge will do the right things."

Yaya has been on the end of much stick before, and it's safe to say that he wants to interact with fans on social media, but feels he cannot do so, unless he's willing to take a ton of abuse, drama and unneeded aggravation ahead of important games.

Can Yaya use this as a catalyst to fire City to UCL and EPL glory this season?
