Now that winter's fast-approaching, days are getting shorter and the weather's getting colder. But that doesn't mean MstarsNews readers can't still enough a nice, chilled glass of wine!

In fact, the fermented grapes beverage is great to cook with once those temps reach a blustering low. Check out this recent Potluck Video entitled "How To Cook With Wine" - sounds pretty tasty, right!?

Wine is great to drink, but it is also an incredible ingredient to cook with. Charles Smith gives his advice for cooking with wine - including what wine to buy for cooking - and then shows us one of his favorite chicken recipes that uses not only wine but sage, prosciutto and parmesan.

According to FoodNetwork.com, certain wines are great to pair with the briskier weather. For example...

Pinot Gris from Oregon (try with: fish preparations swordfish panini with arugula and lemon aioli).

Chardonnay (try with: crab cakes, grilled salmon, roast chicken).

Viognier (try with: seafood bisques, cream sauces, pork/ham preparations accentuated with apples, cranberries, or squash).

Dolcetto (try twith: chicken, veal, antipasto, truffle oil-infused pizza/pasta preparations).

Pinot Noir (try with: chicken pot pie, pork chops, or chili burgers).

Chianti (try with: Italian classics like lasagna, chicken cacciatore, and Italian bread soup).

Enjoy!
