While other country artists use the CMA Awards as a night to celebrate music and one another, Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott used it as a date night with her husband Chris Tyrrell. The 28-year-old musician revealed that being a good couple is what makes her a better mom.

"Chris and I are on a date night tonight, which is so fun for us, but I think my mom is having the most fun because she has Eisele," Hillary told People at Sunday night's SESAC Nashville Music Awards, which was the first of many red-carpet events the couple attended before Wednesday's 2014 CMA Awards.

Hillary and Chris welcomed their daughter Eisele into the world July 22, 2013, after getting married in 2012. The couple are both in Lady Antebellum, Hillary's one of the singers and Chris is in the band, but that doesn't mean they have a lot of time alone, so this week's award show schedule helped the duo get some one-on-one time together without their baby girl.

"One thing we've learned as parents of a 15-month-old is that in order to parent as healthily as possible, and be a strong couple, you need to stay connected to one another. It can be hard with our schedules, but we always make time for us, time to be a couple, too," the "Bartender" singer told the publication.

Last night Hillary performed alongside the Doobie Brothers, Jennifer Nettles and Hunter Hayes, and they totally killed it. Even though she was focused on her performance, she couldn't help but gush when asked about her adorable daughter.

"She was here hanging out with me a little bit earlier while I was getting my nails done, trying to help with it. She's just fun, she's getting really sassy," Hillary told the Tennessean on the red carpet at the CMA Awards. "Which unfortunately I think is a trait she got from me."
