Before the first season of FX'The Strain even makes its way onto DVD/Blu-Ray, there is already talk on what's going to happen in the upcoming Season 2. Based on the Dark Horse Comics adaption of visionary director Guillermo Del Toro's vampire novels, does Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) have nothing to lose against The Master?

The series follows Eph (Corey Stoll) and Nora (Maestro) as they discover a deadly vampire plague spreading across New York City. As they search for a cure, an old vampire hunter comes out of retirement to face off an ancient evil. They must work together to save the world from The Master.

As the first season came to a close, we witnessed Nora lose someone very close to her heart. With her dying mother bitten from a bloodthirsty vamp, Nora had to kill and chop off her head. Just like Abraham Setrakian, Nora also had to murder someone she dearly loved.

Maestro reveals to Zap2it, "I'm looking forward to playing a more hardened Nora...a person who's not afraid to die. For her not to have any second thoughts about fighting, just cold with nothing to lose. She's becoming more of a warrior."

The Argentine songstress emphasizes how her relationship with Abraham grows stronger, while hers with Eph (Stoll) will drift apart. His inability to shoot his transformed ex-wife will "divide the group."

As we previously mentioned, the Devil's Backbone filmmaker even dropped a few hints about the second season, which seems to be based on book two of his The Strain trilogy,The Fall.

Del Toro hinted, "We start with The Strain in November, and I'm going to be shooting a creature unit, the action unit, and I'm going to be shooting the Mexican luchador footage, the black-and-white footage that appears in the series."

Check out what happened on this season on The Strain:

We also reported the first season's DVD and Blu-Ray bonus features include the behind-the-scenes videos, In the Beginning, A Novel Approach, and Setrakian's Lair.

The first season of The Strain lands on DVD/Blu-Ray on December 2. Readers are you excited to see a more hardened Mia Mestro?
