Rihanna Announces SUPER Exclusive Diamond Ball For Charity

Pop superstar Rihanna has announced the plans for her Diamond Ball, a benefit for her Clara and Lionel Charity, CBS News reports. The details for the black tie event, in its inaugural year, have been released through the popstrelle's foundation website, and will take place in Beverly Hills on Dec.11, with Rihanna promising a "very special, intimate performance" with accompaniment from an orchestra. The Clara Lionel Foundation - named for Rihanna's grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite - was set up by Rihanna to "improve the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, education, arts, and culture", and the Diamond Ball will host a VERY exclusive guest list of only 600 people at The Vineyard, a private 157 acre estate in Beverley Hills, Los Angeles. 

In her statement Rihanna said "One of the greatest benefits of my job was being able to start the Clara Lionel Foundation in honor of my grandparents. There is truly nothing I'm more proud of and we've just gotten started. I'm excited to continue my work and thrilled to be able to host the Diamond Ball - a night that promises to be elegant and inspirational."

Back in 2012 Rihanna made a $1.75 million donation to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados, resulting in the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine. It was the same year that Rihanna's grandmother passed away after losing her battle with cancer, and, according to the release, the funds "raised from the Diamond Ball will go into improving the center, purchasing equipment and infrastructure planning, a projected cost of $2.4 million.
