In an emotional interview, British singer Lily Allen opens up to talk show The Jonathan Ross Show about her emotional journey regarding her stillborn son in 2010.

"I think it's difficult for anybody regardless of what world they live in," she revealed. "It was the most unfortunate thing that can ever happen to a person."

The "Sheezus" beauty also miscarried in 2008 and describes the incident as something she had the fortune to have support for.

"There are ...17 stillbirths in the UK every day ... and there are many women that go home and they don't have that support," the "Smile" singer said. "They have to go home and deal with that on their own so I am kind of in a ... count-my-blessing scenario rather than feeling sorry for myself."

Allen suffered from a public miscarriage in 2008 with her then-boyfriend, musician Ed Simon. Five months after the incident in 2008, the couple split and the "Our Time" singer spent weeks in a psychiatric clinic due to depression.

In 2009, Allen met now-husband Sam Cooper where the couple announced their pregnancy with a son. Allen then experienced a viral infection and heavy bleeding which caused her to suffer the stillborn. She was admitted to the hospital on November 6 where she was treated with septicemia. The "Air Ballon" singer revealed on the show that she could not do this without her husband.

"Actually what I took home from the experience was ... I was very fortunate in the sense that I have a loving partner."

The couple have since welcomed a daughter, Ethel Mary in 2012 and another daughter, Marnie Rose in 2013.
