It's finally that time of year - basketball season!
The Atlanta Hawks battle it out on the court against the New York Knicks in the Week 2 of the 2014 NBA regular season on Monday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. EST at the legendary Madison Square Garden in NYC. Read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the Monday night basketball game online and catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.
To kick-off the NBA regular season, the Hawks snag the No. 15 spot in Josh Martin's official NBA power ranking for Bleacher Report with a 2-3 winning record:
"The Atlanta Hawks are one botched final possession against the Spurs away from a 2-1 record-and eight points opposite the Raptors shy of a perfect 3-0 start... In any case, the Hawks can't be too displeased with what they've seen from their squad so far. They're sharing the ball beautifully, with six players averaging double figures and the team, as a whole, registering assists on a league-leading 69 percent of its makes... Atlanta isn't yet scoring at an elite rate, but just about all of the other major offensive metrics point to impending explosion, especially with this team's diverse base of talent-between the frontcourt pairing of Al Horford and Paul Millsap to the outside shooting of Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll, to the burgeoning off-the-bounce abilities of Jeff Teague."
Meanwhile, the Knicks currently hold the No. 16 spot (out of 30 total teams), with two wins and two losses. According to Martin:
"The New York Knicks' edition of the triangle offense is still a work in progress. Even commissioner Adam Silver has noticed the Knicks are scoring at a bottom-10 clip... 'I watched the Knicks game last night,' Silver said at a Nets community event in Long Island City, via the New York Daily News' Mitch Abramson. 'Clearly, they're still learning the triangle. I still don't understand it. But they're learning it. But that's what the game is all about. You have a new coach, you have a new president of basketball operations in Phil Jackson; you have a couple of new players on the team...' Indeed, the offense hasn't come easy for New York and might not for a while. Even Carmelo Anthony (19.6 points on 40.6 percent shooting) is struggling to convert... What's so often lost amid the success enjoyed by Phil Jackson's past projects, though, is the extent to which it's been predicated on defense. The metrics don't speak favorably of the Knicks' efforts on that end so far, though the fact that they've held their last four opponents to under 100 points is a start...even if it's come courtesy of the NBA's slowest pace of play."
The game will be broadcasted live on local channels YES and MSG, but fans can also listen in on the radio at 92.9 The Game, WIOL, and WFAN.
