Kendrick and the reporter apparently took a bartending class at Varnish in downtown Los Angels before their interview, so this sheds light into the confusing tweet.

Maybe it was necessary for the Into the Woods actress to be a little buzzed, as she spoke about her looks being scrutinized in the industry.

"The most common thing that I get is, 'Am I the only one who doesn't think that Anna Kendrick is pretty?' And you're like, 'No, you're not the only one. Arguable, all of the boys in my high school agree with you,'" she said.

Good looks or not, the bad chatter doesn't get to her, as the famous star recently modeled for the new Kate Spade ad in Las Vegas.

Her ambition is what drives her to lock in box-office hits and modeling campaigns.

"If you grow up middle class, you just always feel like you've got to be working, because otherwise you won't be able to pay the rent," Kendrick tells the magazine.

The Academy Award nominee for Up in the Air grew up with modest roots. Born in Portland, Maine, to an accountant and a mother who was a history teacher, she probably never dreamed that her life would be filmed alongside George Clooney and her upcoming movie Cake with the film's no-makeup-wearing Jennifer Aniston.

"Mostly it's the fear that the wolves are always at your heels and you're going to be tossed out into the street," Kendrick's admitted of her fear of not working hard.

But her new role as Cinderella in Into the Woods proves she has nothing financially to worry about. Her acting skills have proved to be a moneymaker.

"The character is thoughtful and complicated. You see what happens after she marries the prince," she said of her role. "The interesting thing about her is she overthinks things, she's uncertain — we don't see that in most versions."
