'Gotham' Recap: Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue Meet Black Mask & Hush In "The Mask!"

The Batman prequel, Gotham, continues on Fox with another action-packed episode. As more characters from DC Comics make their way onto the TV screen, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) about to face Black Mask and Hush from the Batman rogue galley in the The Mask.

While an underground fight club is taking place, Barbara (Erin Richards) is having difficulty adjusting after her kidnapping. Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) wants her seductress to get info from Falcone's ledger, while Oswald (Robin Taylor) attempts to set up a trap for his former boss. The mob bosses are scheming their own way to win the turf war.

Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) is investigating the dead body, finding the time of death, and discovers a bloody finger in his mouth. Investigating the back market, the detectives discover a doctor who operated on the murder suspect with a missing thumb. Their suspect left his business card, which leads them to a sock market office, where all the male employees have scars and bruises on their faces. 

Gordon and Bullock meet the man in charge, Roman Sionis, the super villain Black mask. Bullock and Gordon begin to suspect Roman when they interrogate him. Roman can spot a killer when he sees one; so can Gordon. 

When Gordon leaves Black Mask's office, he steps on a puddle of blood. The bloodstains lead Gordon to the bathroom, where he spots the killer with the missing thumb. Bullock enters the bathroom and knocks out their murder suspect. Just as their murder suspect is confessing, Black Mask's lawyer shows up. 

At school, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) is picked up by Tommy Eliot, the young boy who will become the super villain Hush. After he is bullied, Alfred (Sean Pertwee) gives Bruce his father's watch and visits Tommy's home. Bruce uses his father's watch like brass knuckles and punches out Tommy, making him bleed. 

Gordon finds the right location where Black Mask is holding the underground fight club, but gets himself caught. With his partner in danger, Bullock yells at the entire precinct, telling them Gordon is one of their own. The Captain is the first to help out, then the others follow her lead.

In a fight for his life, Gordon beats down his three opponents, before taking on Black Mask. With Black Mask defeated, Gordon is filled with rage as he raises his blade, but drops the weapon. When the Captain shows up, Black Mask gets back up, but Gordon knocks him out.  

Gordon promises he is going to take down the Mayor, Falcone,and every other crooked cop, which just upsets Bullock, When Gordon makes a call home, Barbara has already left, leaving him a Dear John letter. Just as he is about to leave, Gordon has to deal with Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), who has just been arrested by the police for stealing. 

Bruce realizes he enjoyed beating the crap out of Tommy. Alfred understands but is surprised when Bruce asks to teach him how to fight. Alfred takes one look at the young boy before he says yes.
