Homeland Season 4 Spoilers: Does Someone Die in Season 4 Finale?

Season 4 of Homeland has been up and down as it tries to re-establish itself after the death of Brody in the Season 3 finale. But according to a new report, the Season 4 finale could also feature a significant death.

The "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine reports that a major funeral scene has been filmed that could air in the Season 4 finale.

Ausiello: My spies in South Africa - yes, my network of moles spans the globe - tell me that the show recently shot an elaborate funeral sequence at a chapel in Cape Town presumably to air in the season finale. I have my theories about the identity of the dearly departed, but I'm more interested in who you think it is. Hit the comments!"

The latest episode of Homeland featured the return of Damian Lewis in a cameo as Brody, though Carrie was hallucinating the entire thing. The show did an excellent job of keeping the reveal quiet and of keeping spoilers from leaking, but some fans and critics were not too pleased with the inclusion.

After the previous episode in which Carrie and the CIA nearly had their target in the bag and in which poor Aayan died, the latest episode, "From A to B and Back Again," felt like a step back in a lot of ways. Carrie's mental state has always been interesting, but the show sometimes leaned on it too heavily. Homeland also had a bad habit of forcing the Brody and Carrie relationship down our throats, so his return only brought those bad memories back to the surface.
