Last night's "Concert for Valor" took place in Washington D.C. to celebrate Veterans Day. During the show, Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl and Zac Brown stopped by to perform a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's anti-war tune, "Fortunate Son."

The Huffington Post notes that while the performance was good, musically, there have been a number of outlets that claim the concert "wasn't the place" for the controversial tune. Specifially, the Weekly Standard wrote that the choice of song was a "terrible" one "given that 'Fortunate Son' is, moreover, an anti-draft song, and this concert was largely organized to honor those who volunteered to fight in Afghanistan and Iraq."

Watch Springsteen, Grohl and Brown perform "Fortunate Son" below:

A number of viewers also took their frustrations out via Twitter:

Check out some of the lyrics to "Fortunate Son" here (via The Washington Post):

Some folks are born made to wave the flag
They're red, white and blue
And when the band plays "Hail to the Chief"
They point the cannon at you

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves
But when the tax men come to the door
Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale

Yeah, some folks inherit star-spangled eyes
They send you down to war
And when you ask them, "How much should we give?"
They only answer, more, more, more

It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no Senator's son
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one

Other than the controversial cover, Springsteen also took to the stage to perform his hit "Born in the U.S.A." –– a tune HuffPost aptly notes is a "critique of the Vietnam War." So, it appears the Boss had a lot of things to say last night.

Despite the slams, it seems quite a few people in the crowd really dug the performance, wouldn't you say?
