Although the Spice Girls' performance at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony would supposedly be the only time Posh, Scary, Ginger, Sporty, and Baby Spice reunite onstage, singer Geri Halliwell claims that the girls are still very close and best buds, and will always love and accept each other.

In an interview with Hello magazine, Halliwell (aka Ginger Spice) said, "No matter what's happened in the past, we love and accept each other. I always laugh most when I'm around them."

This statement follows a skit of Mel B (Scary Spice) which appeared on "X-Factor," where the singer removes Victoria Beckham and Halliwell from a lineup of Spice Girls dolls, stating, "Let's get rid of them two - there we go." (The girl band initially began to crumble with the departure of Halliwell in 1998, and Beckham is the one who does not wish to continue with a full-out reunion tour).

Surely the skit was all in good fun, considering Mel B is probably the Spice Girl with the most sarcastic and outgoing personality.

Halliwell goes on to add that the five ladies celebrated her 40th birthday together earlier in August, claiming that it felt like the "old days:"

"The girls were very sweet and made me feel special. There was a cake, lovely presents - and elegant, pretty necklace - and singing of course."

So although fans may never experience a true Spice Girls reunion, at least it's nice to know that the "girl power" mentality still proves strong amongst the group.
