Over the course of his career, we've seen Adam Sandler play a large number of roles, but never a cobbler. Well, look no further! A trailer for his new film, The Cobbler, has just been released. And in it, we see Sandler joined by a number of other A-list stars, including Dustin Hoffman and Boardwalk Empire star Steve Buscemi. Alongside Sandler, Buscemi and Hoffman, actresses Melonie Diaz and Ellen Barkin star.

In the film, Sandler plays a "fourth-generation" cobbler in New York City, as Deadline notes, who discovers an old sewing machine in the back of his family's store. When he begins using it, he soon finds that he can become the very people whose shoes he is working on. Therefore, he can actually walk in another man (or woman's) shoes. Which seems to take him down a number of interesting – and apparently responsible – paths that he wasn't necessarily expecting.

Check out The Cobbler trailer below:

Before The Cobbler, Sandler's last film was the indie flick Men, Women & Children where he played Don Truby. The two films are two of four for Sandler in 2014. Around those, he was seen as Jim in the Drew Barrymore co-starring film Blended. He will also be seen in the upcoming Chris Rock written and directed movie, Top Five.

While many times appearing in films he's backed – either by writing or producing – The Cobbler pairs Sandler with director Thomas McCarthy, who also co-wrote the script with writer Paul Sado.

As of this reporting, The Cobbler has yet to see a release date, but IMDB confirms a 2014 date. However, being as it's already mid-November, 2015 seems more likely.

In other news, MStars News recently reported that Sandler will be teaming up with friend and fellow comic David Spade for a sequel to the 2001 underground classic Joe Dirt. The film is set to hit the theaters sometime in 2015, so stay tuned!
