After making its official premiere and serving up its third episode, Constantine continues with a brand new episode on NBC. Based on the popular DC Comics horror title, in the supernatural drama, will John Constantine (Matt Ryan) and Chas (Charles Halford) discover what "their loyalty means" to each other in an upcoming episode?

Based on the Hellblazer title from Vertigo Comics, Constantine (Ryan) is an occult detective, ladies man, and con artist all put together. Though he wants to do some good in his life, the troubled anti-hero walks a fine line between sorcery and obsession. In his trademark fashion, Constantine steps out into the world wearing a white dress shirt, a faded trench coat, and carries a box full of cigarettes in his pocket.

As we mentioned before, we met actress Angélica Celaya as Mary "Zed" Martin, who appeared in the closing moments of the pilot. In the comics, all the women in John's life always end up leaving him, or end up dead. In the third episode, Michael James Shaw showed up as Papa Midnite, who has been known to switch sides as an ally and adversary.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Halford reveals there will be a flashback episode in episode 10. Audiences will actually see what the circumstances were that led to Chas and Constantine meeting for the first time.

The True Detective actor reveals, "I've spoken with the show's creators and the showrunner about Chas in the show. I love the comics, but there's obviously some inventions for the character in the show with, the supernatural abilities and things like that."

In the comic books, Chas serves as Constantine's driver, as well as his only living friend. The two share a close bond that goes way back to Constantine's punk days. Deviating from the comics, Chas is now an immortal who can survive the abuse that the demonic forces throw at him.

Halford adds, "It was emotional to see the various aspects of this character, and what all happened to lead up to the events in that episode. We go back and explore how John and Chas have bonded and what their loyalty means."
