Rapper turned "NCIS - Los Angeles" star LL Cool J sure knows how to put his military cop alter ego skills to the test. Cool J (James Todd Smith) confronted a would-be burglar in his L.A. home early Wednesday morning, quickly detaining the suspect until the cops finally arrived.
According to law enforcement officials, the "Mama Said Knock you Out" rapper was woken up by a noise at approximately 2 a.m., and upon further inspection he found a male intruder wandering arounf downstairs in his living room.
The 42-year-old "I'm Bad" singer got into a physical altercation with the 58-year-old trespasser, ultimately knocking him down and leaving behind a few altercation bruises.
Cool J went unharmed while the suspect was taken to the hospital and booked for "suspicion of burglary."
According to a spokesperson in a statement made to the Daily News, "LL Cool J, and his family, are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern. As a father, husband and citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter."
Cool J and his wife Simone I. Johnson have four children together.
