'The View' Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell Being Replaced Over Feud? ABC To Hire New Host For Daytime Talk Show!

The View is suffering from sagging ratings and onset feuds with the co-hosts, but now ABC is hoping to revitalize the talk show by adding a fifth panelist. To find a complimentary addition to The View crew, the network heads are hoping to employ the same strategy they used to find former host Lisa Ling in 1999.

"To boost ratings, there have been talks that The View will bring back its nationwide search for co-hosts," a source told Radar Online.

There have been quite a few co-host changes since Lisa left the daytime chatfest. Her replacement, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, spent 10 years on the show and then was replaced herself by Jenny McCarthy. In that time, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, and Sherri Shepherd joined the panel.

"It could be really good for the show," the source said. "Because it would really get the audience more involved."

As MStars News reported, the show has been fraught with off-air drama between the co-hosts. Much of it has to do with Rosie O.

However, Whoopi went on The Late Show with David Letterman to dispel any talk of fighting between the ladies.

"New women. Just a bunch of new women and really smart women and I like them," she said. "People keep saying 'Oh my god, I'm hearing everything. You guys are killing each other over there' it's like 'Oh, OK, you've got four chicks and people expect you to fight ... Women don't just do that."

The Color Purple actress even railed against the double standard and sexism of the idea of the hosts fighting with each other.

"Nobody ever asks those questions to the guys," she said. "You've got five guys on ESPN and maybe they're sniping at each other, but nobody says, 'Oh the dudes are fighting.'"

"You know, we're grown-ups," the Ghost actress continued. "We're hip grown-ups and we're good-looking women, but the fighting thing, teenagers are doing that, that's some stuff kids do, we don't do that. It's too tiring!"
