The O.C. was truly a pop-culture phenomenon — so much so that the stars of the popular Fox series still get asked about it to this day, even seven years after it went off the air. But while it might have put Ben McKenzie, Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson, Leighton Meester and other cast members on the map, Adam Brody says he's sick of getting asked questions about it.

The star opened up in an interview with HuffPost Live, saying that he's proud of the legacy that the show had but that it gets boring answering questions about it when it was such a long time ago.

"It was a wonderful time, but I'm significantly older," the star explained. "I mean, maybe it's the equivalent of, like, 'Do you miss being back in college?' — which I never want to but ... that was a character from 2004 ... my interests don't lie there at all anymore."

Relive some of Seth Cohen's golden O.C. moments:

Brody's interests are currently focused on a new project called Billy & Billie. According to E! News, the DirecTV series will be a 10-episode drama that will also star Lisa Joyce.

But while he is moving on with his career, Brody knows it is often hard for actors to change the minds of viewers who still see him as Seth Cohen.

"It's funny because — and this goes for anyone who becomes famous or recognizable [in a specific project], whatever that first thing is that puts them in the public eye, they'll always sort of be known for it," the 34-year-old actor explained. "I mean, Sally Field will always be Gidget, a little bit."

But despite not being able to break free of O.C. fandom, he says he's proud of the legacy it has left.

"I do so many things, and they mean something to me, and maybe they mean something to a few people. And this is like a story that I was a part of that I sort of share with a certain generation, and in that way, it's an honor. It's something I'm proud of," Brody explained.
