In this week's episode of Homeland, "Halfway to a Donut," Carrie wakes up in a daze still in the Pakistani Intelligence officer's house. She barely can walk or even remember what happened the night before. The officer puts her back into bed, where she gets the chills even with the covers on her.

CIA Director Lockhart, the ambassador and Quinn are on their way to another meeting with the Pakistani delegation to try and get Saul back. The woman at the ISI/Pakistani Intelligence whose plan it was to switch Carrie's meds is upset at her colleague for helping her instead of her getting fired.

Saul is brought in front of a camera for a video, which is being shown at the delegation meeting. Saul says not to accept any of their demands and let them do what they want with him. Haqqani goes in front of the camera to ask for a prisoner exchange for Saul. Lockhart gets upset and storms out of the room. The Pakistani Intelligence says they are not involved with Haqqani or his demands. When the guards take Saul back to his cell, he fights them and secretly takes a nail on the floor to try and unlock his handcuffs.

Carrie wakes up and goes to try to take her meds, but realizes before swallowing her pill that it has been tampered with. The ISI officer comes in asking her how she was feeling, but she berates him about her meds being switched. He says he didn't know anything about it, but she doesn't believe him and leaves. Back at the embassy, Carrie gets a blood test and new meds to see what was wrong with her.

Quinn comes in and tells him there was a breach. They meet with Lockhart who tells them they need a plan to get Saul back without giving up the prisoners. He also says he needs to tell the ambassador what happened to Carrie to keep transparency. After he leaves, Carrie tells Quinn what happened to her and even not remembering how she got there, but one thing is for sure: Pakistani Intelligence is behind it.

Saul is trying to unlock the handcuffs, but can't ... yet.

Lockhart tells the ambassador about the breach and that he doesn't know how she is so diplomatic when Pakistan just wants to stab them in the back. Lockhart leaves, but Professor Boyd, the ambassador's husband, comes in. She tells him not to go outside the embassy because there's been a breach. He looks surprised because he's the breach, but supports her.

The guard on Saul's duty hears a commotion in the cell. When he goes in, he sees Saul hanged himself. He gets Saul down, but Saul surprises him and chokes him to death with the chain. Saul takes the guard's cellphone and escapes. He calls Carrie and tells her what's transpired. Carrie gets Quinn and they go to the control room to try to get Saul out. They tell him there is an asset 20 miles away and they will pick him up there in the morning. Saul asks to just talk one-on-one with Carrie, where he tells her that he'd rather die than be used as a pawn by the Taliban. She promised him she would kill them all with him, included if he was captured.

In the morning, Carrie tells Quinn what Saul told her in private. Carrie tells Lockhart she's sure the Pakistanis know Saul escaped. Lockhart is late to another delegation meeting, but the ambassador tries to distract the Pakistani delegation. The ISI officer sees his colleague talking to Professor Boyd and figures out who the breach was.

At the meeting, the ambassador lays out the White House's demands for the prisoner exchange. Carrie realizes in the middle that the Pakistanis already know where Saul is. She leaves the meeting followed by Lockhart. They go into the control room where they are in contact with the extraction team. Carrie realizes their drone must've been seen by the enemy. Before the team could get into the city, there is a Taliban blocking the entrance.

Saul is in the market store with the CIA asset. He tells Saul he joined the Americans after the Taliban killed his father. Carrie calls the asset to talk to Saul. She tells Saul which way to go to the meet. While this is happening, the extraction gets into a gun fight with the Taliban who's blocking the road to the city. The ISI officer woman also gets a text on her cell while at the meeting. Saul is on the phone with Carrie trying to find his way through a market when the Taliban arrives to find him.

Saul comes to a fountain in town where he sits down. He takes out his gun to try and kill himself because he doesn't want to be taken by the Taliban, but Carrie talks him out of it. She guides him out of there and through a building, but once he gets out on the other side he is captured by Taliban all around him. He tells Carrie, "F--k you" because she purposely led him to them. Lockhart goes back to the delegation meeting and tells them the U.S. will meet Haqqani's demands.

Carrie and Quinn are in her apartment with Carrie screaming that she betrayed Saul and it was the wrong choice. Quinn tells her they need rest and leaves. Carrie lies down to sleep when she gets a call for a meet. At the meet, we see it's the Pakistani officer who saved her before. He tells her it wasn't him who switched her meds, but he knows who did it. She says his side won — for now — but she believes what he's telling her. He finally tells her it was the ambassador's husband, Dennis Boyd, who switched her meds and is working against the CIA. She is shocked, of course.

Amazing episode! I was on the edge of my seat throughout it. The season is getting better each week. Can't wait to see the fallout next week from the shocking revelation at the end of the episode.
