Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal already has her next gig lined up after the hit FX series wraps this season. The 60-year-old actress is officially joining the cast of FX's new drama The Bastard Executioner.

Kurt Sutter, Sagal's real-life husband, is creating the new series and Sagal is definitely going to be involved. This will be the second time that the couple is working together. Sutter is currently a writer and creator on Sons of Anarchy, which is in its seventh and final season.

"I'm going to be in it," Sagal told reporters during a press conference via TV Line. "We don't know in what capacity yet, because he's just starting to work on it. But that's where we're going. I will definitely be involved with it."

The Bastard Executioner was ordered by FX last year and will be about a warrior knight in King Edward III's court. "The titular character, having retired from fighting due to psychological burnout and turmoil, must pick his sword back up — and swing it on the necks of the damned — when violence rears its ugly head again" the publication reported.

Sagal isn't the only Sons of Anarchy star vying for a role in the new medieval drama. Charlie Hunnam, who plays Jackson "Jax" Teller in the biker series, told reporters last summer that he would love to be a part of the new show.

"He f--king better put me on it," Hunnam said during a Television Critics Association summer press tour event via Zap2It. "It's like, what the f--k. I've given him everything I've got for seven years, so yeah, I would love to go and be on that show. Maybe just for a season or two — or for more, whatever — but he's going to be in big trouble if he doesn't invite me."

Hunnam even explained that he has all the knowledge he would need to star in the period piece, plus he knows the location they are filming the pilot, since he is from England, which is where the series will take place. "I spent a lot of time researching the period maybe 200 years later than that when I wrote a script about Vlad the Impaler," he revealed.

"I really am interested, and particularly in English history and that period of English history. It sounds really great, his idea. He's going to create something pretty exciting."
