It seems the world has had it out for Katherine Heigl following some stories about her being rather difficult to work with –– much of which stemmed from her Grey's Anatomy and Knocked Up days. But now the actress is out promoting her newest NBC series State of Affairs and seems to be doing anything to shed herself from that "difficult" reputation, which started with a Hollywood Reporter interview with Scandal (and Olivia Pope) creator Shonda Rhimes. In fact, she's even apologizing to Rhimes for that "crappy impression" she left.

In a new interview with Extra's Mario Lopez (known forever as AC Slater), Heigl comes clean about the aforementioned "crappy impression" she left with the Grey's and How To Get Away with Murder creator.

"I know you're been asked a bunch of times now," Lopez starts, "but that whole Hollywood Reporter interview with Shonda Rhimes... completely blown out of proportion, right?" To which Heigl asks, "Which one?" –– because there were apparently a couple.

Calling back to the interview in which Rhimes states the actress is "difficult to work with," she admits that one took "some stomaching." She further claimed that there was nothing to do except prove it wrong. "The only way to prove it wrong is for people to have a work experience with me that doesn't speak to that at all," she added.

The actress then apologized, saying she's sorry Rhimes feels the way she does, "I'm sorry she's let with such a crappy impression of me. I wish I could do something to change that. Maybe I will be able to someday."

In the end, Heigl does wish Rhimes "nothing but greatness." And from what we can see – mainly because Rhimes dominates ABC's Thursday nights – she's attained it!

State of Affairs premiered on NBC just last night, Monday, Nov. 17. Tune in next Monday for an all new episode!
