The Walking Dead is in the midst of Season 5, and we have just two episodes left until the midseason finale. The latest episode took us on a journey with Daryl and Carol as they searched for Beth and met up with Noah, who has seemingly returned to the church with Daryl to come up with a plan to rescue both women trapped in the hospital.

The stage seems set for another epic confrontation between two groups of humans, but series creator Robert Kirkman teased in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that this showdown would be unlike others in the past.

"This confrontation is definitely going to be substantially different from the confrontation with The Governor or Gareth," he said. "We do continue to evolve these human-to-human conflicts in very interesting ways and this is no different. There's going to be some pretty unexpected events in our midseason finale, which is as it should be. On scale of one to 10, I'd say [the midseason finale is] pretty deadly."

Call us crazy, but it sounds like at least one of the main characters will be dead by the time the show heads into its winter hiatus. Kirkman and others have said that the body count would be high this season, so perhaps that starts with the midseason finale.

What do you make of Kirkman's remarks? Which character or characters, if any, do you think would perish in the midseason finale? Let us know your thoughts and predictions in the comments section.
