It looks as if golfer Tiger Woods is having a difficult time – not as difficult as that 2009 cheating scandal that rocked his and ex-wife Elin Nordegren's marriage, of course – finding humor in Golf Digest's newest (fake) interview. According to reports, sportswriter Dan Jenkins wrote an imagined conversation between he and the famed golfer in a Q&A format. Apparently, after reading, Woods took to Derek Jeters' famed forum The Players' Tribune to express his disinterest in the piece, saying, "Journalistically and ethically, can you sink any lower?"

According to ESPN.com, the 84-year-old writer has been a longtime critic of the golfer. So, perhaps it's not such a surprise to hear that Woods would be the subject of his (fake) interview, which is aptly titled, My (Fake) Interview With Tiger.

In his rebuke, which he titled Not True, Not Funny, Woods notes, "I like to think I have a good sense of humor, and that I'm more than willing to laugh at myself. In this game, you have to. I've been playing golf for a long time, more than I could count, and some have been good and some not so much. All athletes know that we will be under scrutiny from the media."

He then added that Jenkins' article was "below the belt," citing that while "good-natured" satire is fine, "no fair-minded writer would put someone in the position of having to publicly deny that he mistreats his friends, takes pleasure in firing people, and stiffs on tips – and a lot of other slurs, too."

So, what does Golf Digest have to say about the piece? They defend it! Huffington Post reports that the publication released a statement, saying, "The Q&A is clearly labeled as 'fake,' both on our cover and in the headline. The article stands on its own."

Jenkins also defended the article via Twitter, writing:

So, readers, what do you think of the (fake) Tiger Woods interview?
