Marvel Comics is gearing up to put together an oversized special issue of Uncanny X-Men Annual #1.  Critically acclaimed writer Brian Michael Bendis (Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man) and artist Andrea Sorrentino (I,Vampire)  are about to take the mutant superhero team, The X-Men, across time, space, and the Marvel Universe.

In the two-part installment, X-Men member Eva Bell is unable to control her powers. Also known by her codename Tempus, a white streak dominates Eva's hair when she uses her temporal powers. Though she can slow down time at a specific place, and displace "Time Bubbles" for about a minute, something has gone horribly wrong with her own powers.

During her X-Men training mission, Tempus mysteriously disappears all of a sudden. Though Eva re-appeared moments later, she has somehow aged many years. While she was trapped inside her own time bubble, the time-traveling mutant embarked on a journey into the far future of the Marvel Universe.

During her visit to the future, what did Tempus discover there that would have changed her? If she was actually gone for months, how long was Eva really gone? Now that she has returned, why is the displaced mutant heroine keeping her visit  to the distant timeline a secret.

This isn't the first time Marvel has played around with time displacement. In Secret Wars, we're going back to the '90s and revisit the X-men cartoon series. Even Bryan Singer's X-Men movie, Days of Future Past featured parallel timelines. Messing around with the time stream can have deadly consequences, as seen in Age of Apocalypse.

Uncanny X-Men Annual #1 will be released in stores on December 10, just in time for Christmas.  Readers, are you excited to travel through time with the X-Men?
