A major casting news announcement has come up for Season 3 of the crime thriller, The Following. Actor Michael Ealy (Almost Human) joins leading men, Kevin Bacon (Ryan Hardy) and James Purefoy (Joe Carroll) as a new deadly serial killer thrown into the mix.

For the past two seasons, ex-FBI agent Hardy (Bacon) went rogue in order to catch the notorious killer Carroll (Purefoy) and stop his murderous cult. Because he caught him once red-handed, Hardy thought he could do it again. He never thought those closet to him would suffer the consequences.

The second season changed dynamics as the two men had to rescue Claire Matthews (Natalie Zea), Hardy's lover and Caroll's ex-wife from the psycho twins. In the season finale, Finale, Carroll was back in custody but one of the psycho twins is picked by a mysterious stranger. Could Ealy be that shadowy driver in the closing minutes?

According to Deadline, the Common Law actor will play the new face of evil. As a brilliant, chameleon-like killer, The Takers actor will push Hardy to the brink of madness. Will Carroll break out of prison to save Hardy's life and defeat their common adversary together?

MStars News was at New York Comic Con where a panel was held for the serial killer series. A scene from the third season premiere was presented to the audience.

In the video, Ryan is giving a toast at a wedding. Notice how one of the waiters is glaring at Ryan while he gives his speech. Everything seems to be going so well until Ryan is suddenly attacked and all the guests are screaming at the top of their lungs.

The Following is expected to premiere sometime on Fox in 2015. Readers, what do you think of Michael Ealy joining the cast?
