Amir Khan has rapidly rebuilt his boxing career, but according to his former trainer, Freddie Roach, there's not much point in him fighting his former training partner Manny Pacquiao. Why you ask? Apparently Manny would knock him out with light punches during their sessions. Amir had seen Manny as the alternative if he couldn't bag a bout with Floyd Mayweather, however, Roach has also dismissed that fight, suggesting that there's no way that Floyd would agree to it. A huge war of words has begun, with both Amir and Manny claiming they've got the better of one another "many times." One can wonder, when will this welterweight mess get sorted, and will promoter Bob Arum deliver this fight anyway?

Manny and Amir were training partners, but Roach is convinced that Manny's punching power put Khan to the floor on several occasions. Amir is known for having a "glass chin", so many fans have believed this with no second thoughts, which has angered the Khan camp. Roach explained "Manny frequently put Amir on the floor, knocking him cold four or five times,"

Roach continued "There's no point Manny fighting Amir. The reality is that it's no big fight," It seems that Khan won't get his shot at Floyd either. Roach concluded "It's not going to happen. Floyd knows that Amir's speed would trouble him. He is too careful with his choice of opponents to take that risk."

Is Roach bitter that Khan left him behind for a new start, or is Khan the irelevant boxer Roach is portraying him to be?
