'Parks And Recreation' Confirms Two More Cast Members Return For The Final Season

As Parks and Recreation heads into its seventh and final season, two big names have been officially announced as stars for the final season. Two of Pawnee's favorite former residents are heading back for one last hurrah.

TV Line exclusively reported that Chris Traeger and Ann Perkins are finally headed back to Pawnee. Yes, you read that right, Rob Lowe who plays Chris and Rashida Jones who plays Ann are coming back for the final season of the comedy series.

Earlier this month TV Line reported that Rashida and Rob had yet to be named as a part of the cast for season seven. They were however part of the former cast on the wish list from the show's creators.

"We made a list of people that we needed to see back one more time. We didn't get everybody we wanted, because some people had other obligations. But a lot of the people we were hoping to see one more time - we managed to make that happen," executive producer Mike Schur told TV Line earlier this week.

According to the publication, Rob and Rashida are slated for one appearance in season seven. We last saw Chris and Ann when they moved to Michigan to be close to Ann's family. Ann briefly returned later in season six after she gave birth to her son Oliver.

Rob and Rashida's return is the latest casting news for the series. Megan Mullally, Ben Schwartz and Jon Hamm have all been listed as returning for a guest spot in the last season of the show. There is one character however that we won't ever meet.

Throughout the six seasons of Parks and Rec so far, we have yet to meet Mayor Gunderson and the show's EP admitted that we never will. "I don't think you'll ever meet him," Mike told TV Line earlier this month. "There's an episode that has Mayor Gunderson in its fabric, so there is some discussion of him. But I don't think you'll ever see him walk on camera and wave and say hi."
