Randy Travis' Fight in Church Parking Lot: Country Singer NOT Drunk or Hospitalized

Earlier this month, Randy Travis was arrested for a DUI after police found the country singer belligerently sprawled out in the middle of a Texas road - naked. Now it looks like Travis is in hot water again in what appears to be another case of public misbehavior, although reports show alcohol was not involved this time around.

According to Officer David Tilley of the Plano, TX Police Department, "We got a phone call at around 10 or 10:30 [Thursday] night about a personal family issue occurring between an estranged husband and wife. The wife was reportedly the girlfriend of Randy Travis."

Travis supposedly physically intervened between the couple's verbal feud which took place outside in the parking lot of a Texas church. An assault took place between Travis and the husband, but no injuries were recorded. Although initial reports described Travis as "drunk" and "extremely intoxicated," alcohol was determined not to be a factor in the brawl:

"There was no indication that he was intoxicated on the report. I'm not sure where these stories are coming from. It's nothing more than what we run into on a regular basis," Tilley said.

The "Honky Tonk Moon" singer was ultimately cited with a Class C simple assault, which according to Tilley "is a minor misdemeanor offense similar to a traffic violation."

Everyone involved in the ordeal, including Travis, refused transportation to the hospital. Travis' next step will be to contact the local Municipal Court to settle the matter.
