One Direction Harry Styles, Taylor Swift Dating Rumors: Did 'Steal My Girl' Heartthrob Send '1989' Singer 1,989 Roses?

One Direction has been making the publicity rounds lately promoting their new album Four. However, one of the members, Harry Styles, can't "shake off" rumors that he is still in contact with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift.

A tabloid magazine in Australia called New Weekly recently reported that the "Steal My Girl" singer sent his former love 1,989 roses for her huge hit album 1989. The mag also purported that the heartthrob had been "plaguing Taylor with texts, begging her for a rematch."

This outlandish rumor had to be addressed by Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, which Harry was happy to clear up.

"So Harry, I need to find this out because this a rumor. I don't know if you're going to answer me or not because you have so many rumors," the Emmy-winner said.

"I'll answer," he responded.

"Here's the latest rumor, that you gave Taylor Swift 1,989 roses because of her 1989 album doing well. Do you know anything about that rumor?" the former Oscar host asked.

"I know about the rumor," he replied. "I don't know anything about the roses. I think it might have been someone else and I may have falsely taken [credit]."

Ellen answered back, "You got credit for being romantic like that."

Harry was also on the hot seat on Jimmy Kimmel Live when the host asked if a teenage girl's mother ever hit on him.

"Sometimes they almost, like, push them out of the way," the "Best Song Ever" singer said. "There's been a couple [times] where the moms have been like, 'My daughter loves you,' and then you look at the girl and she's like [over it]."

As MStars News reported, after rumors circulated that Harry and Taylor are reconciling, Gossip Cop came to the rescue to reassure fans the two are "never ever getting back together" (Get it?).

According to the site, "A Swift confidante tells us the two are 'friends but NOT romantic, and Taylor is not interested or wanting more.'"
