After numerous reports claimed earlier this week that the first footage from the highly anticipated Disney and Lucasfilm movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens (also known as Star Wars: Episode VII) would premiere on Thanksgiving weekend, director J.J. Abrams himself confirmed the rumors! So get ready to see the first teaser trailer for this film around Black Friday! This news comes right after reported footage leaked online. (SPOILERS to follow)

You can check out some of our previous coverage on what to expect from this trailer thanks to some alleged descriptions that leaked.

Slash Film recently reported on Regal Cinemas posting the theaters that would show the teaser trailer, but that information was quickly removed with a Star Wars related replacement. Check it out here! Meanwhile, according to Vulture, the first theaters showing the trailer are located in Irvine, San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Knoxville, Warrington (PA), Houston, and Seattle.

So if you can get to one of these cities for this premiere, it might just be worth it! According to Abrams' recent posts to the Star Wars and Bad Robot Twitter accounts, the teaser will be 88 seconds long! That's a very generous teaser! Check out the post that confirms the length of the trailer and when it will premiere right here:

Slash Film reports that a full theater list has been released by StarWars.com. Check it out right HERE!

We also mentioned the leaked trailer footage making its way around the Internet. According to Making Star Wars, THIS is what we can expect!
