While the United States celebrates Thanksgiving and enjoys NFL games, the rest of the sporting world is in shock. Young cricketer Phillip Hughes has been killed after being struck by a cricket ball during the game, thrown by opponent Sean Abbott, who now wants to retire and is in shock at the situation. On top of that, soccer legend Pele is ill in hospital.

Abbott threw the ball, and it hit Hughes in the neck, and today the 25-year-old cricket star died. Abbott, 22, has been a "mess," and has needed constant support, as well as counselling that Cricket Australia is giving him. However, former England star David Lawrence believes he will call time on his career. He explained "I know what Sean is going through," Lawrence told BBC Radio 5 live. "My thoughts go out to him. I don't think he'll play cricket again."

Of course this was a horrible outcome which happened in the sport both stars loved so much. In Hughes, the game has lost a terrific player, and of course Abbott will be scarred for life, and if he walks away, many would understand, but the game would lose another star during this sad period for the sport.

On top of that, Brazil legend Pele is in a care unit getting treatment for a urinary infection, he has suffered from some "instability."

On a day where many are being thankful for what they've got in their life, two poor, young, men have gone through a horrific ordeal.
