Liverpool FC hasn't exactly been a great team to watch in the EPL this season, but today's match against Stoke City could end up being an impressive showcase for both squads. "Every game at this level is very difficult. Stoke have gone away and had two good results against Man City and Tottenham," Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers said this week in his pre-match press conference. "Stoke will be coming here to get a result. We just want to return to the home form we improved after I came here."
The coach, who has been facing a lot of criticism lately in the press, also said that Mario Balotelli would not play today.
Meanwhile, Stoke's manager, Mark Hughes, opened up about the "unfair" pressure on Rodgers and how Liverpool is still a force in the EPL.
"I saw a picture in the paper the other day that showed the strength of their bench, worth something like £100 million, so they do have resources they can use," he said. "They're an outstanding team, with great players, and although it's a tough test for us we've proven this year we can go anywhere and get positive results, so that's our intention again."
