The Walking Dead Season 5 Spoilers: Who Will Die in Midseason Finale 'Coda'?

The Walking Dead will air its Season 5 midseason finale, entitled "Coda," with a new episode this Sunday night. Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd recently described the episode as "heartbreaking," which means just one thing in the world of this show. Someone's going to die.

We know that Rick's group will lead an assault on the hospital to rescue Beth and Carol from Dawn's group, and it's likely things will get messy here. So let's look at the odds of each character biting the dust before the episode ends on Sunday.

WARNING: COMIC SPOILERS AHEAD

Rick Grimes: Rick is the de facto protagonist of the series. The show has not been shy about killing main character, but Rick is THE main character. Rick is still going strong in the comic book, and he's integral to the plot. Odds of death: 1,000 to 1

Carl Grimes: Carl is back at the church and is not part of the assault on the hospital, so this episode might not even show him at all. But danger can strike from anywhere on this show, so he might have to fight his way out of a sticky situation on Sunday. Odds of death: 500 to 1

Michonne: I'm pretty sure Michonne can't actually die. She'd just angrily stare death in the face until death blinked. Odds of death: 1,000 to 1

Daryl Dixon: Daryl actually would make for a traumatic and heartbreaking death. He's one of the most beloved characters on the show, and what better way for him to go out than by saving the two most important women in his life? Odds of death: 10 to 1

Anyone on Team GREATM: Glenn, Rosita, Eugene, Abraham, Tara and Maggie are removed from the church and hospital action at the moment, but they've stopped ever since Eugene revealed he lied about being a scientist with a cure who needed to get to Washington, D.C. They, too, may not appear in this episode, and if they do, our money is on their survival. Odds of death: 100 to 1

Father Gabriel: This guy has no idea how to fight and is off in the woods on his own. His death is almost too obvious, so we'll say he lives. Odds of death: 50 to 1

Beth: Beth has been the eternal optimist on this show, which means she should have been killed off seasons ago just to make this world an even more miserable place. Yet, here she remains, and it doesn't look like she's going anywhere anytime soon. Odds of death: 30 to 1

Sasha: Sasha could bite the big one just to join Bob in death. She's starting to come to terms with his passing, but it wouldn't surprise us if she stopped breathing by the end of the episode. Odds of death: 15 to 1

Tyreese: Tyreese is dead in the comics by this point, but the show has remixed the source material enough that it no longer truly matters in most cases who's alive or dead when the show catches up with the books. But we like Tyreese, which means we don't want him gone. Odds of death: 25 to 1

Noah: Noah's an original character for the show and he's going back to the hospital to save Beth. Yeah, this kid might be a goner. Odds of death: 5 to 1

Carol: We saved her for last for a reason. The show has spent a great deal of time with Carol in Season 5. We've taken a trip into her psyche and watched as she morphed from scared, abused wife to complete badass. If her transformation is complete, then the show might feel the time is right to pull the trigger on her now. Odds of death: 2 to 1
