Season 4 of Person of Interest continues to escalate on CBS with easy unalliances and even bigger threats. As Reese (Jim Caviezel), and Finch (Michael Emerson) find themselves in the midst of a violent mob war, will things heat up between Root (Amy Acker) and Shaw (Sarah Shahi) to a more "girl-on-girl" relationship? '

As we previously mentioned, The Machine was beaten by a much more powerful Artificial Intelligence, known as Samaritan. To stay hidden from Samaritan's growing radar, Finch (Emerson) and his group assumed normal, regular lives to prevent themselves from getting caught. The stakes are even higher now as Shaw's cover was unexpectedly blown by Samaritan.

In The Devil You Know, while Reese and Finch were occupied rescuing Elias (Enrico Colantoni) from his rival, Dominic, Shaw (Shahi) had problems of her own. After the blonde-haired assassin, Martine, emptied her bullets at the make-up store, Shaw had to jump on Root (Acker)'s motorcycle to escape from the shootout. Shaw then noticed how Root wouldn't let go as they hid in the back of a pick-up truck.

In an interview with Zap2it, Shahi teases she would like a more than flirtatious relationship between Shaw and Root, "I love working with Amy. We have fun with the flirtation. It's definitely not my first time down this road coming from The L Word. I feel like there's nothing you can throw at me being girl-on-girl at this point that I haven't done before."

Of course, things changed when Root stuck a tranquiler into Shaw. With enough drugs to knock out a bull, Shaw will be even angrier when she wakes up. Root understands that Shaw's likelihood of survival depends on her staying hidden from Samaritan.

Towards the end of the episode, Martine was given an army of trained killers dedicated to hunting down Shaw. Maybe two of those operatives are Devon (Nick Tarabay) and Brooks (Theodora Woolley), who appeared in Honor Among Thieves. Both were once trained by Shaw herself and are now working for Samaritan.

Person of Interest will be back December 16, Tuesdays on CBS at 10pm, before its winter break. Readers, are you excited to see something happen between Shaw and Root?
