It's finally that time of year - hockey season!
The Tampa Bay Lightning battle it out on the ice against the New York Rangers in Week 8 of the regular season on Monday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. EST at the legendary Madison Square Garden in NYC. Read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the Monday evening hockey game online and catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.
Following the first few opening weeks of the 2014 regular season, the Lightning snag the impressive No. 4 spot in Jonathan Willis' official NHL power rankings for Bleacher Report with a 16-6-2 winning record:
"The Lightning have won three consecutive games, dispatching the Wild, Rangers and Senators in a seven-day span... Tampa Bay feels so good about its chances this year that it was willing to trade away veteran rearguard Eric Brewer for futures, a deal that made room for the return of Victor Hedman to the lineup. That the Lightning are in a tie for first overall in the league after a long absence from their No. 1 defenceman suggests that confidence is justified... Ryan Callahan may be riding some unsustainable personal and on-ice shooting percentages, but he's been a wonderful surprise for the Lightning early, scoring 11 times and recording 21 points through the team's first 21 games. The career 11.0 percent shooter is currently recording a goal on one in five of his shots."
Meanwhile, the Rangers currently hold the No. 17 spot (out of 30 total teams) with an 11-8-4 record. As Willis points out:
"New York climbs three spots after some recent successes; the club has won its last two games and four of its last five, with a one-goal road loss to Tampa Bay the lone aberration. Henrik Lundqvist seems to be rounding into form; he has a 0.927 save percentage in November after a sub-0.900 performance in October."
The game will be broadcasted live on local channels MSG and SunS, but fans can also listen in on the radio at 620 WDAE, WGN, KTUI-FM, and ESPN NY.
